Florida Shootout

Greetings of the day! Here is an important piece of information straight form the front page of all major national & international dailies including various news channels : What Happened ? A shootout in Florida (US) on 12 th Jun 2016. About 50 innocent lives were lost & equal number were seriously injured. Who did it & why ? A 29 year old youth who allegedly had ‘homophobia’ sprayed bullets on a Gay Club killing people in cold blood. He pledged allegiance to IS too. Why did it happen ? This may not happen here, so why bother? People have already started arguing that this happens in US only, because the country has free gun culture & this is unlikely to happen in India. But google & related data suggests that in India only 20% people in possession of weapons hold valid arms license, rest 80% are in possession of illicit (not country made katas anymore) weapons. TOI dated 11 th Jun 2016 brought to light a big number of laser sight (for precision ...

Stop Me if You can !!

On 24th Feb 2016, a man tries hard to sleep at his home in posh Vasant Kunj area but for the loud music his next door neighbour is playing. He decides to walk up to him to tell him to 'stop' the loud noise as it was already past midnight. This leads to some heart burn and altercation & the man returns back to his home. After about 30 minutes the man playing loud music knocks at the door of the complainant along with his friends to settle the score. The group of hoodlums start pounding the guy & finally draw out a gun & fire 2 shots in his abdomen to lay him to rest forever. Well, such a trivial issue which ended so gory and inhuman! This is the reality & shutting our eyes to incidents like this wont help, we must prepare so that we are not next! Witnesses said that the accused would hold such loud noise parties very often & it is evident that none in the past objected to it which would have definitely made the accused think that it was ok. Now the questio...

Recent Kidnapping in NCR : Danger Looms Again

Recently a young executive was kidnapped & kept hostage for a few days. She was let go thereafter & is now back home. It is now not incorrect to speculate that she could have been brutalized & further tormented considering the murderous track record & the advantageous position of the accused, where the victim was at his mercy. We can all empathize with her state of mind & condition all throughout this ordeal. It would be worthwhile to talk to such victims in person & get a first-hand account of the modus operandi of the criminal & her / his response (if at all) to ensure non recurrence, but …..WAS IT AVOIDABLE OR PREVENTABLE ?? Let us not grant everything to the criminal, it is time to own up that we are ‘unprepared’ & ‘callous’ too. My wisdom tells me that most people feel “ it can’t happen to me ” working in their mind somewhere which stops them from being proactive & prepared. Please find below a few points which may help you stay safe ...

Reality Based Self Defence

I am an ex army officer with a 2 Dan Black Belt in Karate, Black Belt in Unarmed Commando Combat System,  instructor  levels in Krav Maga, Law Enforcement & Kapap  with background in Boxing, Muay Thai , Jiu Jiu jitsu , Wrestling , Indian Sword & Stick fighting.  I feel that traditional Martial Arts are not best suited for RBSD (Reality Based Self Defence) not because of their academic importance & heritage but because of their effectiveness in 'real combative scenario' where there are no rules, no holds barred & our assailant is not single, carries a knife if not most sophisticated weapon of the world & has an intent to kill & not to score points.Yes , traditional MA develops agility & confidence but their teaching is not comparable to Reality Based Training which incorporates use of weapons , combat medics or first aid if slashed, chocked or shot, helping others in evacuation or tactical combative to sum it. A background in martial art...

Are you ready ?

The world has become a dangerous place not because the number of bad guys have swelled but because the good guys have done nothing about preparing themselves! Recent bombing in France (Paris) is a substantial denominator & indicator that such killings are mindless and ruthless. Incidents such are these are on the rise and many more which go unheard like kidnapping, robbery, rape, murder, road rages killing etc etc. Are we prepared to be able to stand in the face of the enemy or are we expecting a miracle or do we feel its not our job? Our own self defence & protection is our duty which we might as well comply with some sincerity. Fitcomb claims to be the most complete & advanced defensive system and can surely help you achieve the needful. Whether it be for your personal need or your teams responsible for protection.

Is Self Defence an Option?

Since time immemorial the primary or basic concern of mankind has been survival. The first invention of the prehistoric man was 'tools' , these stone carved tools were used to save themselves against wild animals, sharpen their spear and host of other utilities. Man has continued to evolve since then & has upgraded to computers, pneumatics, robotics & shall continue to evolve further & always. But the aspect of survival has remain as primary as before though the perspective has changed. Now its not against the wild animals & forces of nature as much as its against 'inhuman humans; out to kill, rob loot , rape or maim for reasons best known to them. Maslow in 1943 described the needs of Human Beings best depicted through this Pyramid : The underline here is that we can not bye pass 'SAFETY' to attain 'SELF ACTUALISATION'. Hence the need to be able to defend ourselves against odds which can only be done if we make a concious effort to lea...
